The import process

The import process in 6 steps

Importing a car can be a complicated process. Regulations are sometimes complex and vary from country to country. We will be happy to explain how it works so that you know where you stand. Read more about the steps we can take to ship your car safely and quickly.

Vehicle delivery
1

Vehicle delivery

We collect your car. This can be done at any address worldwide. For this, we work together with our agencies that specialise in local regulations and costs.

To the harbor
2

To the harbor

We transport your car to the port. Port costs may vary. The moment you submit an application to us, we will look for the safest and most price-friendly port.

Customs procedure
3

Customs procedure

We arrange the export of the car. This means that the car goes through the customs control procedure. The papers are checked and a report is made about the car. The car is then professionally packed and taken to the ship.

Shipping
4

Shipping

The car is shipped to the port of destination. There the container is removed from the ship, the car is unloaded and a photo report is made.

Vehicle clearance
5

Vehicle clearance

Then the car is cleared. We also arrange this for you. The costs for import duties and VAT are calculated and paid. FreightHammer has its own warehouses in the Netherlands and Belgium, which means that almost every old-timer can be cleared through customs at a low rate and at no extra cost.

6

Vehicle delivery

After customs clearance, the car can be picked up or transported. We can also deliver the car to your home.
